Tip 1: Keep a journal
Keeping a journal of your weight loss goals is a great way to keep yourself motivated. If you are just getting started with your weight loss it may also be a good idea to keep a food journal for the first 2 months before starting your diet. You can use this journal to bring to your doctor or nutrition specialist and come up with a personalized food plan based on your current food preferences. This journal is personal and should only be shared with the doctor or nutritionist. You won't really need it after you get started but if you have found that having the journal was helpful to you by all means continue to keep one.
Tip 2: Be kind to yourself
I realize this sounds like an odd tip but the reality is that a lot of people that struggle with their weight often find themselves lacking self confidence or being over critical of themselves. This is not the case with everyone but it is the case with a lot of people and it may be the case with you. If you are not kind to yourself it will be even more difficult for you to start to lose the weight you want to lose. The only person that can take the pounds off is you and you can only do it once you are kind enough to yourself to believe that you have the ability to reach your weight loss goals.
Tip 3: Make a lifestyle change
I remember when I first put on the weight I thought a diet was what I needed. It was not until I had tried every diet under the sun that I realized that it is more than diet that needs to change, I needed to change. Yes, there are pills that can help you to jump start your lifestyle change but it is not the miracle cure. What I mean is that you can use weight loss pills to help you get your body prepared for the lifestyle changes but lifestyle changes should be at the forefront of your mind before all other things. Making small changes like walking to places instead of driving, having a salad with your dinner, cutting out the processed foods and sweets. Make the changes gradually so that you are less likely to go back on these changes. You will find that by using these tips you will be well on your way towards losing weight and feeling great.
